Female Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Kern Raceway

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 7, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Panama Lane. 

Dispatchers received calls around 5:30 a.m., a few miles east of Kern Raceway.

Police officers say the driver of a westbound pickup-truck struck a female pedestrian who was walking along the roadway.

Upon impact, the driver contacted authorities and waited for crews to reach the scene. In addition, a second driver struck the woman lying on the roadway and did not pull over. 

First responders declared the female victim dead at the scene. Her name remains unreleased to the public.
