Stephanie Anahi Killed, Girl Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Canal Boulevard [Richmond, CA]
14-Year-Old Girl Dead, 11-Year-Old Hospitalized after Solo-Car Collision near West Cutting Boulevard
RICHMOND, CA (November 7, 2024) – Thursday morning, a hit-and-run crash on Canal Boulevard killed Stephanie Anahi and injured her sister.
Police officers received dispatch calls around 5:15 a.m., at the 600 block of Canal Boulevard near West Cutting Boulevard on October 14th.
Following the initial investigation, crews determined that the driver of an Infinity G35 was speeding down Canal Boulevard when they lost control, eventually slamming into two trees and a power pole.
The severely damaged vehicle then came to a stop in the northbound lanes.
When police arrived, they found 14-year-old Stephanie Anahi dead and her 11-year-old sister in critical condition.
Meanwhile, two 15-year-old boys who had stolen the vehicle fled the scene on foot after the impact. Police have identified them, and they have both reportedly made statements. Although, no arrests have been made until authorities can determine who was driving.
Officers say Stephanie was student at Richmond High School, and her sister is a student at Ford Elementary School.
