Doria Archila and Infant Killed, Lazaro Lenus and James Butler Involved in Semi-Truck Crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1788 [Midland County, TX]
37-Year-Old Woman and 10-Month-Old Baby Killed in Big-Rig Collision near County Road 58
MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (November 7, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, Doria Archila and an infant were killed in a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 1788.
Police officers say the incident occurred just before 3:20 p.m., near County Road 58 on October 23rd.
Per the Texas Department of Public Safety, 51-year-old Lenus was driving a westbound 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV with passengers Archila and a 10-month-old baby.
For reasons under investigation, Lenus failed to yield at a red-light and collided with a 2019 Freightliner semi-truck, driven by 61-year-old Butler. The impact ejected Archila and the infant from the vehicle onto the road.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 37-year-old Archila and the baby dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, Lenus and Butler sustained no injuries from the collision. Also, police added that Archila and the infant were not wearing their seatbelts at the time.
No other information was released by authorities, and further investigation is currently ongoing.
