Two Pronounced Dead after Box Truck vs Car Crash near Volta Road
FRESNO, CA (November 7, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, two victims were killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 5.
Authorities arrived to the scene around 1:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Volta Road.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a northbound 2008 Honda sedan veered across the center median.
As a result, the Honda collided head-on with a 2017 Isuzu box-truck, causing both vehicles to catch fire. Responding emergency personnel declared the two drivers dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported from the incident.
Crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Fresno Officials will provide more information about the deadly Volta Road head-on crash once available.
