31-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Collision near Dalhart

HARTLEY COUNTY, TX (November 5, 2024) – Thursday morning, Jesus Castillo-Rosas was killed in a semi-truck crash on Farm-to-Market Road 281.

Authorities responded to the scene around 6:40 a.m., about 11 miles east of Dalhart on October 10th.

Investigators say Castillo-Rosas was driving a 2022 Mack tractor that was towing a semi-trailer.

The driver of a 2015 Volvo truck then turned onto FM 218 from a private driveway, and struck the trailer of the Mack truck. The impact caused the truck operated by Castillo-Rosas to overturn into a nearby ditch.

Emergency crews arrived and pronounced 31-year-old Castillo-Rosas, of Dumas deceased at the scene.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
