31-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Accident near Engel Road

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX (November 4, 2024) – Thursday morning, a pedestrian collision on Interstate 35 claimed the life of Austin Michael Arp.

Around 9:15 a.m., dispatchers received calls in the 6000 block of Interstate 35 near Engel Road on October 24th.

Investigators say the driver of an 18-wheeler struck Arp in the area. However, further circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.

According to the New Braunfels Police Department, officers located 31-year-old Arp with fatal injuries upon arrival.

In addition, the driver of the truck remained uninjured, and no charges were filed against him.

No other information was released by authorities, and further investigation was handled by the Braunfels Police Department Traffic Unit.
