67-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Crash near Regulus Drive
EL PASO, TX (October 18, 2024) – Monday evening, Lori Jean Kenyan was killed in a pedestrian collision on McCombs Street.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., at the 9900 block of McCombs Street near Regulus Drive on October 7th.
Preliminary investigation showed that Kenyan attempted to cross McCombs Street in an unmarked crosswalk. She then entered into the path of a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by 55-year-old Melissa Ann Garrett.
Responding troopers arrived at the scene and found 67-year-old Kenyan with no signs of life. She was later declared dead by local authorities.
Meanwhile, Melissa did not obtain any injuries from the collision, and she cooperated with officials.
Authorities stated that poor lighting and improper crossing from Kenyan contributed to the crash. At this time, the Special Traffic Investigations Unit is handling the investigation. Once available, more details will be provided.
