Devon Singleton Arrested, Two Injured in Head-On Accident on East Cypress Road [Oakley, CA]
Police Sergeant and One Other Injured after Police Pursuit Ends in Crash near Knightsen Avenue
OAKLEY, CA (October 18, 2024) – Saturday evening, police arrested Devon Singleton following an injury head-on collision on East Cypress Road.
Oakley officers started to pursue a stolen vehicle around 6:10 p.m., speeding along Jersey Island Road.
Per reports, pursuing officers laid down spike strips to disable the vehicle. However, the suspect did not stop after puncturing more than one of the vehicle’s wheels and continued westbound on East Cypress Road.
The pursuit continued at the intersection of East Cypress Road and Knightsen Avenue. Reports indicated that a police sergeant positioned his vehicle at a nearby Valero gas station, where it collided head-on with the suspect’s car.
Eventually, officers managed to arrest the suspect, 29-year-old Devon Singleton of Antioch.
The police sergeant, Singleton, and Singleton’s passenger were all taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Oakley Officials booked Singleton into the county jail for felony evading arrest and several other charges.
