42-Year-Old Woman Killed in Rollover Crash near Linnel Lane

MURRIETA, CA (October 17, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, Jasmine Gomez was killed in a rollover accident on 215 Freeway.

Around 12:00 p.m., police officers responded to the southbound lanes of the freeway just north of Linnel Lane. 

Investigators say the driver of a Fiat 500 struck a Dodge pickup-truck that was hauling a trailer. In addition, the Fiat struck another nearby vehicle before hitting the center divider and overturning in the fast lane.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, responding EMTs pronounced the Fiat driver dead at the scene. Following preliminary duties, crews determined that the Fiat driver was not wearing their seatbelt. 

Murrieta Officials later identified the deceased victim as 42-year-old Gomez, of Hemet. 

Police said the two other drivers involved did not sustain injuries from the crash. The 30-year-old Texas man driving the pickup was not charged. However, officers at the scene stated that “charges may be pending.”

California Highway Patrol officers closed the southbound lanes of 215 Freeway until 5:00 p.m. as crews cleared the scene. Anyone with additional information regarding the fatal three-vehicle crash can call the CHP’s Temecula office at (951) 466-4300.
