Daniel Andrew Carrico-Lynn and Leon Torres Killed in DUI Crash on Del Monte Boulevard [Seaside, CA]
Two Men Pronounced Dead after High-Speed Collision near Fremont Boulevard
SEASIDE, CA (October 7, 2024) – Late Sunday, Leon Torres and Daniel Andrew Carrico-Lynn were killed in a DUI crash on Del Monte Boulevard.
First responders arrived to the scene around 10:15 p.m., near Fremont Boulevard.
Investigators say Torres was driving a vehicle at high rates of speed and drove into an island.
There, the vehicle struck Carrico-Lynn before colliding with a raised partition and overturning. The impact of the crash ejected the driver from the vehicle, leaving the driver and the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 19-year-old Torres, of Watsonville, and 40-year-old Carrico-Lynn, of Monterey County deceased.
Following preliminary duties, officers said Torres and three occupants from inside the vehicle were under the influence.
At this time, Seaside Officials continue to investigate the fatal DUI crash.
