25-Year-Old Man Arrested after Fatal Auto Collision near Ohio Garden Road

FORT WORTH, TX (October 4, 2024) – Saturday evening, one man was killed and Jose Maximino Ramirez Olmedo was arrested after a two-car crash.

The incident happened just before 9:30 p.m., in the 2100 block of Jacksboro Highway near Ohio Garden Road on September 7th.

According to the Fort Worth Police officers, 25-year-old Olmedo was heading south on Jacksboro Highway at high rates of speed. He then drove through a red-light and collided with another vehicle.

The impact ejected the driver of the other vehicle onto the road, causing serious injuries. Emergency responders immediately transported the victim to the hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. Their identity was not yet released by officers.

Following preliminary duties, officers arrested Ramirez Olmedo and booked him into Tarrant County Jail facing a charge involving death with a $20,000 bond.

No other information was added by the troopers, and the Fort Worth Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is handling further investigation. Once available, further details will be provided.
