20-Year-Old Chula Vista Man Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Otay Mesa Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 4, 2024) – Early Monday morning, Jose Ruan Lopez was fatally injured in a motorcycle crash on Enrico Fermi Drive.
The fatal crash happened around 4:40 a.m. along northbound Enrico Fermi Drive, just north of Otay Mesa Road.
California Highway Patrol officers say a man riding a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle hit the back of a parked yellow box truck.
Investigators said the box truck was resting on the east curb when the collision happened.
The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle onto the road. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, responding medical personnel declared the man dead at the scene.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the deceased rider as 20-year-old Jose Ruan Lopez.
