34-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near Ascarate Park

EL PASO, TX (October 3, 2024) – Tuesday evening, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Alameda Avenue resulted in the death of Emmanuel Torres.

Police officers responded to the 7200 block of Alameda Avenue near Ascarate Park on September 24th.

El Paso Police troopers say the male pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle.

Shortly after, another vehicle struck Torres, and immediately fled the scene without contacting police officers. Following preliminary duties, authorities described the suspect vehicle as a pickup-truck.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced 34-year-old Torres dead at the scene, due to the extent of his condition.

Emergency crews have not provided additional information, and the crash remains under active investigation. Witnesses are urged to call the department at (915) 832-4400 or the El Paso Crime Stoppers at (915) 566-TIPS (8477).
