28-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Accident near Mile Post 303
WALLA WALLA COUNTY, WA (October 1, 2024) – Saturday morning, a wrong-way collision on State Route 12 claimed the life of Salvador Beltran.
Authorities responded to the westbound lanes of the freeway around 3:10 a.m., near milepost 303 on September 21st.
Troopers say the 40-year-old male driver of an eastbound vehicle veered into oncoming lanes for reasons unknown.
As a result, the wrong-way vehicle collided head-on with Beltran, who was heading west. Due to the impact of the crash, responding medics pronounced 28-year-old Beltran deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, the other driver sustained injuries and paramedics transported him to Kadlec Medical Center. Police say that the wrong-way driver was suspected of being impaired at the time.
Charges against the suspect are still pending as of this time. There are currently no additional details available to the public, but authorities will provide more information when it becomes accessible.
