61-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Firetruck vs Pedestrian Collision near Glendora Avenue 

LONG BEACH, CA (October 1, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, Michael Shaun Ross was fatally struck by a firetruck on 2nd Street.

Authorities responded to the 5300 block of 2nd Street near Glendora Avenue around 12:40 a.m.

Investigators say firefighters were responding to a service call and struck a male pedestrian. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male victim dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased pedestrian as 61-year-old Ross.
