17-Year-Old Girl Dead, 20-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after ATV Accident near Beardsley Road

PHOENIX, AZ (October 1, 2024) – Monday morning, an ATV crash on 47th Avenue claimed the life of Edith Ochoa and left a man injured.

Police officers responded to the scene around 4:00 a.m., near Beardsley Road on September 23rd.

Reports indicate that 17-year-old Ochoa was operating an ATV and lost control while heading west on Beardsley Road. As a result, the ATV veered onto the dirt shoulder, ejecting Ochoa and his passenger onto the road.

First responders located Ochoa unresponsive at the scene, while the 20-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 17-year-old Ochoa dead at the scene.
