23-Year-Old Martinez Woman Pronounced Dead after Golf-Cart Accident near Long Iron Drive
LAKE ALMANOR, CA (September 26, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, Cassidy Cushing was hurt and Riley Silveria was arrested after a DUI crash.
First responders arrived to the intersection of Lake Alamanor West Drive and Long Iron Drive around 3:15 a.m.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a two-seat Club Car golf cart with five occupants was turning left when the right rear passenger fell out.
Responding paramedics transported the passenger to Enloe Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. The female passenger was later identified as 23-year-old Cassidy Cushing of Martinez.
Following the crash, police arrested the golf cart driver – identified as 23-year-old Silveira of San Francisco – for driving under the influence of alcohol.
