Danny Oerlemans Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on North Lindley Avenue [Los Angeles, CA]
51-Year-Old Man Killed in Bicycle Collision near Parthenia Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 25, 2024) – Thursday evening, Danny Oerlemans was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on North Lindley Avenue.
Around 9:20 p.m., first responders arrived to the 8556 block of North Lindley Avenue near Parthenia Street.
Investigators say the driver of an unidentified vehicle was heading north and struck a man who was riding his bicycle in the area.
The impact of the crash ejected the man onto the road, causing life-threatening injuries.
In addition, the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities. Moreover, police say an additional four to five vehicles hit the bicyclist while the man was lying on the street.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department declared the male bicyclist dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased man as 51-year-old Oerlemans.
The Los Angeles Police Department has not released any additional information regarding the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.
