46-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after High-Speed Crash near East Holland Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (September 25, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a solo-car collision on Wishon Avenue took the life of Anthony Photopoulos.
First responders arrived to the area around 2:00 p.m., near East Holland Avenue and Old Fig Garden.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a Volkswagen ID4 electric SUV sped through a posted stop-sign at a high rate of speed.
As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree before hitting the gate of a nearby residence.
Investigators declared the driver of the Volkswagen dead at the scene. On Tuesday, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased driver as 46-year-old Photopoulos.
No other injuries were reported from the incident and investigators confirmed that Photopoulos was the only person in the vehicle.
Fresno County officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal car crash.
