Fatality Reported, Multiple Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 155 [Winona, TX]
One Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Accident near Interstate 20
WINONA, TX (September 24, 2024) – Late Sunday afternoon, one person was killed and multiple were hurt in a 3-vehicle crash on Highway 155.
The Smith County Police Department responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m., just north of Interstate 20 on August 4th.
For reasons under investigation, three vehicles collided in the area. First responders arrived and located two occupants trapped inside their vehicle.
Emergency crews immediately worked to extricate the severely injured victims. Due to the extent of their condition, medics pronounced one person dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
In addition, medics transported at least four others to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Responding personnel shut down the surrounding roadway for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, authorities have not released any additional statements, and further investigation into the fatal 3-vehicle crash on Highway 155 remains ongoing.
