Elderly Man Pronounced Dead after Bicycle vs Car Collision near Bolsa Avenue
WESTMINSTER, CA (September 23, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, a bicycle accident on Newland Street took the life of a 93-year-old man.
Authorities responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m., at the intersection of Newland Street and Bolsa Avenue.
Upon arrival, police officers discovered the victim lying along the roadway with major injuries.
According to investigators, the driver of an unidentified vehicle hit a man who was riding his bicycle in the area.
Despite life-saving efforts, Orange County Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male bicyclist dead at the scene. Officials only identified the deceased victim as a 93-year-old man.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the site of the incident and cooperated with authorities. At this time, the Westminster Police Department Traffic Bureau detectives are leading the investigation.
