53-Year-Old Adelanto Man Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Accident near Baldy Mesa Road

ADELANTO, CA (September 19, 2024) – Friday evening, Raul Rodriguez Arcos was killed and two were hurt in a 3-car collision on Palmdale Road.

Police officers received dispatch calls around 9:45 p.m., near Baldy Mesa Road.

Investigators say the driver of an eastbound 2014 Honda Accord rear-ended a 2017 Ford Transit van for reasons unknown.

The Honda then crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2020 Infiniti sedan. The driver of the Accord – identified as 53-year-old Raul Rodriguez Arcos of Adelanto – died at the scene. 

Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the Infiniti driver to a local hospital while the Ford driver declined further medical transport. 

At this time, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation.

Officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal three-vehicle crash to contact the Sheriff’s Victor Valley Station at (760) 552-6800.
