3 Women Killed in 4-Vehicle Accident on 215 Freeway [San Bernardino, CA]
Three Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near University Parkway
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (September 19, 2024) – Late Saturday night, three women were killed in a 4-vehicle accident on 215 Freeway.
Authorities responded to the northbound lanes of the freeway, near University Parkway around 11:30 p.m.
Investigators say the driver of a northbound 2018 Toyota Corolla veered onto the shoulder for reasons unknown. The Corolla then rear-ended a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia that was resting on the right shoulder.
The impact pushed the Corolla across all lanes where it also hit a 2018 Acura MDX that was heading north. Shortly after, the driver of a northbound 2024 Ram 3500 struck the disabled Corolla.
As a result, three female occupants inside the Corolla sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the other parties involved in the collision suffered minor injuries. The identities of the deceased victims remain undisclosed to the public.
At this time, officials are asking those who witnessed the 215 Freeway four-vehicle crash to contact the Bernardino CHP Office at (909) 383-4247.
