Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 198 [Kings County, CA]
Unidentified Man Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Collision near 14th Avenue
KINGS COUNTY, CA (September 17, 2024) – One man was pronounced Tuesday night, after a pedestrian crash on Highway 198.
First responders arrived to the scene shortly before 8:30 p.m., near 14th Avenue after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.
Reports indicate that the driver of a Kia sedan was heading east and struck a man who was crossing directly into the vehicle’s path.
Medical personnel arrived and transported the male victim to Adventist Medical Center Hanford. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced him deceased.
At this time, the identity of the pedestrian remains undisclosed to the public. In addition, the driver of the Kia driver was only described as a 55-year-old woman.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. California Highway Patrol officers will release additional information regarding the pedestrian crash on Highway 198 once available.
