Chuck Henson Killed in Bicycle Collision on West Vickery Boulevard [Benbrook, TX]
68-Year-Old Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Accident near Old Benbrook Road
BENBROOK, TX (September 17, 2024) – Saturday morning, Chuck Henson was fatally struck in a bicycle collision on West Vickery Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the 7700 block of West Vickery Boulevard near Old Benbrook Road on September 7th.
Investigators determined that Henson was riding with his cycling group in the area.
The female driver of a northeast vehicle then made a turn onto Old Benbrook Road, and failed to notice Henson.
As a result, the vehicle and the cyclist collided. Medical personnel arrived and transported 68-year-old Henson to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the woman remained at the scene and was remorseful to what happened. She was not arrested but police cited her for making an unsafe left turn.
In addition, police say that Henson was a retired teacher at Fort Worth Independent School District. The school and the biking community gave their condolences to the family and tribute to Henson.
