26-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles near Madonna Road
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (September 17, 2024) – Sunday night, Cesar Salinas-Ruiz was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Highway 101.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., near the Madonna Road overpass on September 1st.
Reports indicate that the driver of an older model Toyota struck a male pedestrian who was in the northbound lane of the freeway.
Upon impact, the initial driver that hit him fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.
Shortly after, another vehicle hit the pedestrian and the driver who sustained minor injuries remained at the scene.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the 26-year-old male pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.
Officials are still assessing the fatal pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 and will provide more details about the crash as their investigation progresses.
