Faith Robinson-Romero and John Bandy Killed, Dylan Butler Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 12 [Calaveras County, CA]
2 Dead, One Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash near Double Springs Road
SAN ANDREAS, CA (September 16, 2024) – Sunday night, Faith Robinson-Romero and John Bandy died, and Dylan Butler was hurt in a car crash.
Dispatchers received calls around 9:30 p.m., near Double Springs Road and Toyon Middle School.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of an eastbound 1993 GMC Sierra failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the double yellow lines. As a result, the GMC collided head-on with an oncoming 2024 Ford Mustang.
The GMC driver, John Bandy, 22, and the Mustang passenger, identified as Faith Robinson-Romero, 21, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, medics took the Mustang driver, identified as 22-year-old Dylan Butler of Copperopolis to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of major injuries.
The family and friends of Butler and Robinson-Romero started a GoFundMe page to help with medical and memorial expenses.
Police are asking those who witnessed the fatal Highway 12 collision to contact the CHP San Andreas at (209) 306-6400.
