56-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Fairway Boulevard

WICHITA FALLS, TX (September 16, 2024) – Wednesday evening, Derick James Beeman was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on Southwest Parkway.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m., at the 4700 block of Southwest Parkway near Fairway Boulevard.

Investigators say 56-year-old Beeman was crossing all traffic lanes in the area for reasons unknown.

There, the 16-year-old male driver of a westbound 2008 Ford Mustang with an 18-year-old passenger struck Beeman, causing life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of his condition, medics eventually pronounced Beeman deceased at the scene.

During preliminary duties, authorities interviewed the teen occupants. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
