Pilot Hospitalized after Small Plane Crash on Spur Drive [Cottonwood, AZ]
Pilot Injured in Plane Collision in Residential Neighborhood
COTTONWOOD, AZ (September 13, 2024) – Sunday morning, one pilot was hospitalized following a small plane crash on Spur Drive.
Authorities responded to the scene around 9:00 a.m., in a residential neighborhood on September 8th.
Officers determined that a single-engine Mooney M20F went down for reasons unknown.
Firefighters from Verde Valley and the Cottonwood area worked to extricate the pilot from the severely damaged plane.
Paramedics transported the pilot to the hospital, where they remain in stable condition. Crews have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Investigators also say no one else in the neighborhood sustained injuries.
At this time, the Federal Aviation Administration is handling the investigation. Once available, further details will be provided.
