Male Rider Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Collision near West Melville Road

MARSHALL, WA (September 13, 2024) – Late Monday afternoon, one man was pronounced dead after a motorcycle crash on South Spotted Road.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m., near West Melville Road on September 2nd.

Investigators say the driver of a southbound Nissan Sentra attempted to make a turn onto West Melville Road. However, the Nissan turned in front of a northbound rider, resulting in a collision.

Paramedics arrived and took the rider to a nearby hospital where he later passed away. Authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

Following preliminary duties, officers determined that failure to yield the right-of-way contributed to the crash. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information about the motorcycle crash on South Spotted Road is still currently underway.
