Austin Ly Killed in Motorcycle Collision on Tulare Avenue [Fresno, CA]
16-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near North Fowler Avenue
FRESNO, CA (September 13, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, a motorcycle collision on Tulare Avenue left Austin Ly with fatal injuries.
Police officers responded to the scene around 4:00 p.m., near North Fowler Avenue.
Upon arrival, California Highway Patrol located a teenage motorcyclist on the road with significant injuries. According to reports, the driver of a sedan collided with the rider for reasons unknown.
Paramedics took the rider to Community Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the involved sedan remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
On Wednesday, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased motorcyclist as 16-year-old Ly, of Fresno. Ly was identified as one of the students at Clovis East High School.
Detectives closed the intersection of North Fowler and Tulare Avenue for a brief time during the investigation. At this time, the Collision Reconstruction Unit is working to determine the cause of the crash.
