76-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near South Twin Oaks Valley Road

SAN MARCOS, CA (September 11, 2024) – Friday night, one woman was killed in a pedestrian collision on Shubin Lane.

The incident happened around 9:07 p.m., near the intersection of South Twin Oaks Valley Road and Shubin Lane on September 6th.

Per reports, the female driver of a white Toyota Camry was heading south on South Twin Oaks Valley Road when she collided with a 76-year-old pedestrian.

The collision resulted in severe injuries for the female pedestrian, and paramedics quickly transported her to the Palomar Medical Center Trauma Unit. Despite the medical team’s efforts, the pedestrian did not survive.

Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup operations.

Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. During preliminary procedures, officials found no evidence that alcohol was involved.

The crash investigation is still underway, and officials will release more details once they have additional information. The San Marcos Station Traffic Division asks those with more information to contact their offices at 760-510-5200.
