73-Year-Old Man Arrested after DUI Collision near Lost Dutchman Boulevard

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (September 11, 2024) – Saturday, Thomas Kain was arrested and 30 people were hurt in a DUI crash on North Apache Trail.

Authorities arrived to the scene around 7:30 p.m., near Lost Dutchman Boulevard on September 7th.

Authorities determined that Kain was driving a Ford pickup-truck and lost control before crashing into a nearby building. As a result, at least 30 people suffered injuries.

Paramedics took 10 victims to a nearby hospital and treated 15 others at the scene. In addition, 5 others drove themselves to a hospital for further evaluation.

Following preliminary procedures, police officers suspected that 73-year-old Thomas Kain was driving under the influence at the time.
