Rider Dies in Motorcycle Collision on Old Bayshore Highway [San Jose, CA]
Unidentified Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Accident near Oakland Road
SAN JOSE, CA (September 4, 2024) – Early Thursday afternoon, one rider was fatally injured in a motorcycle collision on Old Bayshore Highway.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:24 p.m., at the 1100 block of Old Bayshore Highway near Oakland Road.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a big-rig had struck a motorcyclist in the area. However, further circumstances leading up to the collision remain under active investigation.
Following the incident, the truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police officers.
Despite life-saving efforts, EMTs pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Although, officials have not yet released their name or place of residency.
San Jose officers eventually closed both directions of Old Bayshore Highway from 10th Street to Gish Road.
