Rider Dies in Fiery Motorcycle Collision on Commonwealth Avenue [Fullerton, CA]
One Pronounced Dead after SUV vs Motorcycle Crash on North Basque Avenue
FULLERTON, CA (September 4, 2024) – Wednesday, one rider was pronounced dead after a fiery motorcycle collision on Commonwealth Avenue.
The Fullerton Police Department responded to the scene around 3:00 p.m., near North Basque Avenue on August 28th.
Reports indicate that the driver of a white SUV was heading east on on West Commonwealth Avenue and attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection. There, the SUV caused westbound traffic to come to a halt.
Shortly after, the rider of a black 202 Harley Davidson was unable to avoid the vehicles, causing a collision. The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle onto the road. There, the driver of a gray 2021 Toyota RAV4 struck the motorcyclist.
Footage from the crash site also shows one of the vehicles engulfed in flames.
Medical personnel arrived to the scene and pronounced the motorcyclist deceased.
Investigators also say the 47-year-old man driving the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
