Rebecca Olsen and Teenager Killed, Duncan McQuarrie Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 85 [San Jose, CA]
Woman and 14-Year-Old Boy Killed in Wrong-Way Accident near Saratoga Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (September 4, 2024) – Monday, Rebecca Olsen and a teen died and Duncan McQuarrie was hurt in a wrong-way crash on Highway 85.
The incident occurred on the northbound lanes of the freeway around 3:40 p.m., near Saratoga Avenue on August 26th.
Per reports, McQuarrie was driving a white Toyota Tacoma the wrong-way on the freeway at high rates of speed. As a result, the Toyota collided head-on with an oncoming Tesla, driven by Olsen with a 14-year-old passenger.
Responding medics pronounced 47-year-old Olsen and the male teenager dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, medics transported McQuarrie, of Orlando, Florida to a nearby hospital for further treatment. After being discharged, authorities will recommend to the district attorney that McQuarrie face a felony manslaughter charge.
