57-Year-Old Driver Dead after Semi-Truck Plows into Traffic near Indian School Road

PHOENIX, AZ (September 4, 2024) – Early Wednesday afternoon, Jimmy Orama was fatally struck in a semi-truck collision on 12th Street.

Police officers arrived to the scene around 12:45 p.m., near Indian School Road on August 28th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a westbound semi-truck failed to stop at a red light and plowed into traffic, causing a chain-reaction collision.

A white sedan was dragged and then became completely lodged underneath the semi-truck, trapping the driver inside. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the white sedan driver, 57-year-old Orama dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, authorities assessed the truck driver and he did not display any signs of impairment. It was unclear if he will be facing any charges.
