27-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Accident near Wellsona Road

PASO ROBLES, CA (September 3, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, Brianna Mae Thomas was killed in a big-rig collision on Highway 101.

The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Wellsona Road on August 28th.

Per reports, Thomas was driving a 1990 Cadillac El Dorado east on Wellsona Road when he entered the northbound lanes of the freeway.

There, the Cadillac failed to yield and struck a 2024 Freightliner hauling an empty 2018 GDAN. Investigators say the Freightliner driver, 44-year-old Levi Adams, was unable to move in time.

First responders located both vehicles partially blocking the traffic lanes.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 27-year-old Thomas dead at the scene.

Moreover, crews were able to contain the spillage, and the roadway has since been cleared to passing traffic. No additional information was added by the troopers, and the crash remains under investigation.
