Jose Louis Silva Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Accident on J Street [Sacramento, CA]
55-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near 24th Street
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 29, 2024) – Sunday morning, Jose Louis Silva was killed in a motorcycle accident on J Street in Midtown Sacramento.
Dispatchers received calls near the intersection of 24th Street and J Street in front of Rick’s Dessert Diner.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a U-haul truck struck the motorcyclist. The impact ejected the rider from his motorcycle into the wall of a nearby building.
Employees from the diner came to provide life-saving efforts. However, medics later pronounced the rider dead at the scene. The family later identified him as 55-year-old Silva.
Ultimately, authorities closed the intersection for several hours as crews investigated the crash. The Sacramento Police Major Collision Investigation Unit will provide more information to the public once available.
