Eduardo Gonzalez Arrested, 5 Dead after DUI Rear-End Crash on Interstate 35 West [Fort Worth, TX]
Five Pronounced Dead after Violent Fiery Collision near East Seminary Drive
FORT WORTH, TX (August 29, 2024) – Monday, Eduardo Gonzalez was arrested after killing five people in a DUI crash on Interstate 35 West.
Dispatchers received calls around 12:30 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Seminary Drive on August 19th.
Investigators say 19-year-old Gonzalez was driving a black Camaro at high rates of speed and rear-ended a sedan occupied by five people. The impact caused the sedan to catch fire, trapping the two adults and three children inside.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced all of the sedan occupants dead at the scene. Their identities were not released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
In addition, crews took Gonzalez to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. After he was released, he was booked into jail with five counts of intoxication manslaughter and DUI-related charges.
