One Pronounced Dead after Car Vs. Bicycle Crash near Broadway

REDWOOD CITY, CA (August 29, 2024) – Early Friday evening, one rider was killed in a bicycle collision on Arch Street.

The incident occurred around 6:34 p.m., near Broadway and Sequoia High School on August 16th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck a cyclist near the intersection.

Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Responding medical personnel transported the bicyclist to Stanford Hospital where they died three days later. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.

Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
