Rontario Simmons Dies in Pedestrian Accident on South Fort Hood Road [Killeen, TX]
20-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near West Elms Road
KILLEEN, TX (August 28, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian accident on South Fort Hood Road killed Rontario Simmons.
The Killeen Police Department responded to the 3300 block of South Fort Hood Road around 4:15 a.m., on August 18th.
Police officers say the driver of a black Chevrolet SUV was heading north and made a turn onto West Elms Road. There, the driver struck Simmons who was crossing from west to east.
Responding medical personnel transported 20-year-old Simmons to Baylor Scott and White Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced him dead on August 19th.
In addition, the occupants from inside the Chevy remained uninjured and the driver cooperated with the investigation.
