Bessie Bell Killed in Dump-Truck Collision on Pleasant Valley Road [Garland, TX]
99-Year-Old Woman Dies in Two-Vehicle Accident near Firewheel Parkway
GARLAND, TX (August 26, 2024) – Early Saturday afternoon, Bessie Bell was killed in a dump-truck collision on Pleasant Valley Road.
First responders arrived to the scene around 12:45 p.m., near Firewheel Parkway on August 10th.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a minivan and a City of Garland dump-truck collided.
Investigation showed that the minivan made an unsafe left turn onto Firewheel Parkway, failing to yield right-of-way to the truck, causing the truck to hit the passenger side.
Paramedics pronounced 99-year-old Bell, who was the passenger of the minivan, dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, crews transported the driver of the minivan to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Moreover, the driver of the truck did not obtain any injuries. Further investigation is being handled by the Garland Police Department.
