47-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Indian School Road
PHOENIX, AZ (August 22, 2024) – Friday evening, Latisha Sterling was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on North 67th Avenue.
Authorities arrived to the scene around 9:30 p.m., near Indian School Road on August 16th.
Investigators say Sterling was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk near the intersection. There, the driver of a passing vehicle struck her.
Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
First responders located 47-year-old Sterling lying down on the road unconscious. Paramedics quickly transported her to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Following preliminary duties, crews do not believe impairment played a factor in the crash. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
