Roberto Flores Dead, 1 Hospitalized after Big-Rig Crash on Interstate 5 [Santa Clarita, CA]
24-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Semi-Truck Collision near Calgrove Boulevard
SANTA CLARITA, CA (August 21, 2024) – Early Saturday, Roberto Flores was killed and another was hurt in a big-rig crash on Interstate 5.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 6:31 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Calgrove Boulevard.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a semi-truck and a car collided in the area. Investigators say one of the vehicles drove off the roadway. Although, no further details were available.
Responding firefighters and paramedics declared one of the people involved in the incident dead at the scene. Meanwhile, crews took another patient to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased victim as 24-year-old Flores.
No further details regarding the big rig crash have been made public. Santa Clarita Officials will provide more information when it becomes available.
