52-Year-Old Texas Man Pronounced Dead after Single-Car Collision near Twisselman Road

LOST HILLS, CA (August 20, 2024) – Tuesday, Marcos Rosas Hernandez died and his passenger was hurt in a solo-car crash on Highway 33.

California Highway Patrol officers arrived to the northbound lanes of the highway around 2:15 p.m., just south of Twisselman Road.  

Investigators say the driver of a Honda Accord was traveling at high rates of speed and made an unsafe turn. The Honda then left the roadway and came to a stop in a nearby dirt field where it collided with a tree.

Responding emergency personnel declared the driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, his 60-year-old male passenger was transported to Kern Medical for treatment of minor injuries. 

The coroner’s office later identified the deceased driver as 52-year-old Marcos Rosas Hernandez, of Dallas, Texas.

Authorities are asking those who were present during the crash to contact the CHP Buttonwillow Area Public Information Officer at (661) 764-5580.
