Two Men Fatally Injured in Solo-Vehicle Collision near Blue Sky Road
BELLE VISTA, CA (August 20, 2024) – Early Thursday, a pickup-truck accident on Highway 299 claimed the lives of Leobardo Sosa and Hector Tapia.
Police officers arrived to the scene near Blue Sky Road around 2:17 a.m. Authorities received an IPhone crash alert and immediately responded.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado resting on its roof in the Salt Creek creek bed.
Investigators say the pickup-truck hit a metal guardrail while traveling eastbound on the highway.
The impact of the crash caused the Silverado to leave the roadway and overturn on its roof at the Salt Creek bridge.
Medical personnel declared the two men inside the pickup truck dead at the scene. Officials later identified the two occupants as Leobardo Tapia Sosa, 30, and Hector Miguel Gutierrez Tapia, 25. Both men were determined to be residents of McArthur, CA.
