Rider Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Gavilan Court [Gilroy, CA]
One Unidentified Victim Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Murray Avenue
GILROY, CA (August 15, 2024) – Early Thursday evening, one rider was killed and a passenger was hurt in a motorcycle crash on Gavilan Court.
Authorities responded to the scene around 6:45 p.m., in the area of Gavilan Court and Murray Avenue.
Based on the initial investigation, a male motorcyclist collided with a car, ejecting the rider on the roadway.
Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced the unidentified motorcyclist died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver and the passenger inside the car were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Responding personnel shut down the roadway for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. The coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of the deceased rider.
At this time, Gilroy Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the two-vehicle crash. Those who witnessed the collision are encouraged to contact local officers as soon as possible.
