Woman Pronounced Dead after Pursuit Collision near South Hardy Street

SEATTLE, WA (August 14, 2024) – Thursday, one woman was killed and a suspect was arrested after a pursuit accident on Airport Way South.

Authorities responded to the scene around 7:40 a.m., near the King County International Airport on August 8th.

According to the Seattle Police Department, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee which had an expired registration along Boeing Access Road.

However, the suspect continued to drive northbound on Airport Way South.

Another trooper was alerted about the chase and attempted to stop the suspect. The suspect then crashed into the police vehicle, ending the pursuit.

The suspect then traveled over 100 mph before crashing into a light pole and overturning.

Responding medics pronounced a female passenger in her 50s dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the suspect to Harborview Medical Center.

Following preliminary duties, troopers determined that the suspect was impaired. As a result, police later arrested her after she was discharged. They later booked her to King County Jail with second-degree murder charge.
