One Seriously Injured in Bicycle vs Auto Collision near Calvados Avenue

SACRAMENTO, CA (August 14, 2024) – One cyclist was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon, after a a bicycle accident on Boxwood Street.

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:45 p.m., at the 2300 block of Boxwood Street, near Calvados Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a vehicle had struck a person riding their bicycle in the area.

However, the circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.

Medical responders transported the bicyclist to a nearby hospital where they remain in stable condition. Police officers have not yet released their name or place of residency.

It was unclear if the driver involved stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the police. Sacramento Officials closed the roadway near Calvados Avenue and Boxwood Street for further investigation.
